Sedalia Stars Mural

The Leadership Class (Sedalia business leaders working with selected high school students each year to create a project that will benefit the community.) hired Linda to do this one for their 2016 project. Sadly one of the students on the committee was killed in an automobile accident during the course of the project. It was decided to do the mural partly in remembrance of him and to put him in the mural, very fitting since the goal was to bridge the gap from the rich historical past of Sedalia into the present, and to feature people;e who brought light in some form to the city. Hollywood stars were decided on for the lights since Sedalia has been the home of a surprising number of people who have gone on to gain national celebrity. These three were chosen because they were not only born here but also lived her until they graduated from Smith-Cotton High School.
